Blind Mosquitoes

Are they really blind?

No! That is just another common name for the aquatic midge fly, a mosquito-like insect in the family Chironomidae. What really separates them for mosquitoes is that the females do not bite and they don't carry disease.

So why do we want to get rid of them? The are a swarming insect that can really be a nuisance if you happen to live by an infested lake or pond.
