Tymber Trace
Tymber Trace was developed in the early 1990’s by the Babcock Company. This beautiful tract of land with a rich history dating back to the Surruque and Timucuan Indians is surrounded with natural estuaries leading into Turnbull Bay, an area of New Smyrna Beach. Residents here enjoy the quiet and mild weather of central florida coast.
The community has two lakes covering 4.5 acres that help to capture storm water. Having these lakes allow natural processes to take place to reduce any fertilizer or other residues from entering the pristine bay. Until recently, the ponds were operating in a low oxygen mode that increased algae growth via related chemical processes, a common occurance in man made lakes.
In 2009 the Homeowners Association made the decision to have Aquatic Systems Inc. install Vertex Water Feature’s diffused aeration systems in both ponds in addition to the other steps being taken for aquatic weed and algae control. According to Karen McCullough, HOA Vice President "It has been nearly a year since we contracted your lake management services. The combination of the aerators, and your lake management have brought about miraculous results. We made it through an unbearably hot summer without a single algae bloom."

Lake aeration is an environmentally friendly method to help alleviate problems caused by low oxygen and stratification when used with other best management practices. Now the residents can enjoy cleaner, healthier water and pleasing lake views. We are very happy and grateful we have the opportunity to work with the residents of Tymber Trace.
